The shamwow is a german made product marketed by Offer "Vince" Shlomi aka Vince offer. Vince is a writer,director,comedian from haifa isreal. His first major work was called "the underground comedy movie" and was released in 1999. He used the same tactic as girls gone wild to market his movie and sold over 50000 copies by direct order. In the late 2000's vince drew on his experience in the flea markets and began appearing in commecials for house hold products such as the slap chop (slapchop). 2 years before the shamwow the late Billy Mays marketed a similar towel (chamois) called the zorbies and the magazine "popular mechanics" put them head to head and the shamwow proved to be more effective in absorbing liquids. The Fox channel's "deal or dud" tested the shamwow and struggled to get the product to work as advertised. Another product marketed by vince was the slapchop which is a handheld food chopping/dicing device. It is operated by slapping your hand down on the large button as the blades come down and chop the food. When ordered it came with the graty which is an easy to use cheese grater.
